Welcome to my bridal hair studio, set in my pretty little cottage garden in Crowborough, East Sussex. Join me for tea or coffee, while we play with the hairstyles of your choice.
For perfect wedding day hair, ideally make an enquiry of availability of the wedding date at least six months before the day.
Allow 2 hours for your trial. You can book more than one trial if you like.
My usual hours for trials are Tuesday or Wednesday, 9.30am–4.30pm. Quite often brides will time this in with a bridal makeup trial or a dress fitting.
I am not available for trials at the weekend, during the summer months, as my full attention is on my brides on their special day.
Please feel free to bring one friend or family member for a second opinion.
Have a think about your hair colour, cut and condition.
Avoid having your hair cut after your trial, if possible, if it means losing length.
A change of colour needs to be made at least two months before the wedding.
A top up colour needs to be done a week before the wedding.
Will your hair need conditioning treatments to get it into the best condition possible?
Wear a light coloured strapless or strappy top to the trial. This will give you an idea of how the hairstyle will look with your dress.
Wear similar makeup and jewellery to the trial that you may wear on the day.
Pinterest is a great place to create your own mood board of hairstyles you may like to try. www.pinterest.co.uk/sbweddinghair
Bring your tiara, veil and accessories if you have them. Photographs of your bridesmaids if they are not having a trial.
I have a range of hair accessories for you to practice with if you haven't decided what you want yet. I also have a veil to play with in the studio. Once again Pinterest is great for ideas. www.pinterest.co.uk/sbweddinghair/hair-adornments/
Think about the possibility of using a hair piece or clip-in extensions to create more height, volume, or length. I use extensions colour swatches to match to your hair colour perfectly at the initial trial - a second trial will be arranged to fit and style them.
Think about having your hair up, half up, or down. Do you want it curly, wavy, or straight? How do you want your bridesmaids to wear their hair?
Please come to the trial with hair washed and dried in its natural state.
At the trial I will advise you when to wash your hair for the wedding.
I will take photographs, make notes and sometimes sketch for my reference, and to compare styles.
I will be more than happy to answer any further questions you may have by email or phone.
I look forward to meeting you soon and taking you on this adventure ! Liz x
