Niranjela & Michael

I was so excited when Niranjela sent me images of a Mohawk hairstyle!

As a bridal hairstylist it is so hard to really understand someone's character in such a short space of time. Nijanjela came for a trial with her lovely mum, wanting a half up half down style. Her beautiful long hair was almost waist length, fine but curly with lots of texture. When she got home she realised that the style was not quite right with her dress and her personality, and it was difficult for her to fit in another trial.

Niranjela sent me an image of a Mohawk style, which was so completely different to what we had practised, so perfect for her, lasted all day and evening and such fun to do. Changing hairstyle last minute does not phase me at all, as long I know the type of hair and length will do the style. I love a challenge! I think the message here is to.... 'Be true to yourself and don't be afraid to go for it!'

Niranjela's Kind Words

"I had a hair trial with LIz who interpreted the style I had chosen perfectly, however, when I got home I realised it wasn't quite me and didn't suit my outfit. I sent Liz the picture of a Mohawk style and hoped for the best on my wedding day. Liz also did my mum's hair just by images I sent over. Needless to say, I was worried, but both my mum and myself were extremely happy with the results on the day."

Ellie & Larne

I arrived at Ellie's chosen venue at 5am on a glorious April morning, with the sun just starting to come up over the horizon and the dawn chorus kicking in! One by one the girls appeared from their rooms in their gorgeous floral kimonos.
Larne is in the Military and had not seen his Bride to Be for almost 4 months, prior to a couple of weeks before the wedding.
It was such a magical day!

Ellie's hair suited her beautifully in a twisted nape knot, dressed with this gorgeous hair comb.

The bridesmaids all had similar hair length and chose to wear their hair half-up half-down, and loosely twisted and curled.

Lucy & Adam

On the most beautiful hot sunny day in June, Lucy and Adam said their vows in the lovely Sussex village of Ticehurst, at the local church.

Lucy chose to wear her beautiful blonde hair in a classic updo, keeping it soft and loose, to give it a contemporary feel.

Jo & Henry

I Knew, as soon as I met Jo, that her bridal hair was going to be amazing and so much fun to do!

Jo has the most beautiful, naturally wavy, flame red hair. Every hairstylists dream!

The front, sides and crown of Jo's hair were finger waved, using L'oreal Tecni Pli setting spray as my chosen styling product. The waves were clipped into place until set and dry, using Patrick Cameron Butterfly Clips.  After gently softening the waves with my fingers, the back of the hair was rolled up into this gorgeous vintage style. which totally complimented the overall look of a 1920's-1930's wedding.

The stunning hairpiece by My Fayre Favourite sits beautifully, tucked into the roll.

Lissie & James

A beautiful country garden wedding in Chiddingstone, near Penshurst, in Kent.

Lissie chose a simple, elegant hairstyle, yet with a touch of boho incorporating fishtail braids, to compliment her beautiful lace bodice gown from Isabella Grace Bridal Boutique.

The hair was prepped with GHD straighteners and a thermal protecting spray to smooth the hair before styling. A little dry shampoo was used for grip and texture, and to help with thickening the fishtail braids and twists. Fine wisps of hair were teased from all around the face and nape to soften.

Islay & Jimmy

Such a fun, colourful, summer wedding, full of prettiness and blooms!

Islay wanted a soft, natural boho bride, hairstyle to compliment her gorgeous dress from Minna.

The hair was gently tonged to add soft waves and a few braids were added randomly here and there for interest. A few dried flowers, from The Artisan Flower Company, were poked into the hair to form a crown.

Francesca & Nick

I just loved Francesca's grecian themed hairstyle!

Francesca had a very clear idea of what she wanted me to create from the start. She had kept her stunning Amanda Wakeley, grecian style wedding dress, a total secret from all of her family and friends, and wanted a grecian themed hairstyle to compliment it.

Firstly I waved all of Francesca's hair with a spiral wand, using a thermal protection spray, in large sections to create loose waves. Both sides were then braided and softly pinned and rolled into a low knot at the nape. The beautiful hairvine was added once the style was completed.

Charlotte is a wonderful, wedding supplier, friend of mine. I was delighted to be asked to create her wedding hairstyle.

The style had to be centered around her gorgeous hair vine, which was designed and made by Charlotte herself, at My Fayre Favourite, as was her beautiful belt. This simple hairstyle of twists and curls reflected the soft. simpleness of her stunning wedding dress from Froufrou Bridal Boutique, in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Portia & Ore

Wow! What an amazing couple! So Beautiful!

Portia & Ore tied the knot at Penshurst Place, near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, on a sunny November day.

I was so excited to see Portia's gorgeous hair when she came for her trial. Portia chose a soft, half up do for her hair, which beautifully suited her tiny features and the neckline of her dress. I added a few, perfectly matched, extensions to the hair to create a little more length and volume.

To create this style I used Babyliss large tongs on the crown to create the height and volume, allowing this to cool before styling. This gave me a good base for the backcombing and teasing needed to add the shape that Portia had in mind.  On the mid lengths and ends I worked with a Babyliss spiral wand to give soft natural waves that would last.
